I haven't actually read this title yet. I have been reading Unlikely Friendships and Unlikely Loves (same author) to my friend in an Adult Family Home. She had been a voracious reader but hasn't been able to read for some time due to macular degeneration. I had received one of these as a gift and thought it would be a great book for me to read to her. It was a great success....... short stories I can read to her as many as I have time for,and we can continue with another story when I see her again. The stories are endearing, and we both love them. Of course if you are an animal lover its all the better. My husband bought me several more from the same author, and I can't wait until I can resume reading these stories with my friend again. I highly recommend these books especially sharing with a child or children in a group or adults who are no longer able to read. They are a wonderful bonding experience. My friend tells me she feels like she is in solitude until I come and read with her. She makes my day ! This is an exceptionally heartwarming book. These are true stories about dogs forming extraordinarily strong bonds with other species, from a dog with a chameleon or a Pigmy Owl to a dog with dolphins or an elephant. And there are other stories about dogs overcoming horrendous injuries, about heroic rescues by dogs, about dogs looking after and “uncannily” sensing the needs of sick people, and many more engrossing situations. It’s a real work of love.
